How many articles or blog posts have started with, "what a year..."? As we crawl toward the end of 2020 and the prospect of a post-COVID life, those of us who love obstacle course racing start to think about getting back in the game.
If you're a regular reader, you know I have been a critic of Joe De Sena and the Spartan brand at times. When I first heard he was putting together the Spartan Games, there might have been an eye roll and a sympathetic thought to the poor team that had to put this together quickly. Who knew if it would even happen?
Joe--I'm sorry. We're only one episode in, but I'm already hooked. Here's the premise: Spartan brought together twenty-four elite athletes (12 men and 12 women) from different sports to compete for prize money and bragging rights. There's drama, teamwork, mullets (so many mullets), amazing athletic feats, villains and heroes. Oh, and multiple competitions a day. I'm reinvigorated and more excited than ever to get back to obstacle course racing.
Episode 1 can be found here, the next episode comes out on December 9. Personally, I can't wait!
