Pivoting to a New Market and a Win-Win for Parents

If you've seen my website or social media posts lately, you may have noticed some changes. When we launched Obstacle Fitness in July 2019, our goal was to share our passion of obstacle course racing with companies and individuals by bringing our obstacle course training program to you through a creative team building or offsite event or better yet, onsite classes if your company had signed up as a corporate team.

Here we are, a little over a year later and in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Most adults that work in a "typical" office setting went remote several months ago. Many schools went remote too, leaving working parents (and let's be honest, its primarily moms), scrambling to manage their kids' online learning schedule as well as trying to do their own jobs.

The New School Year is Coming

As we head into a new school year, many schools are choosing to remain remote for the time being, further complicating the lives of parents that might need to head back to their offices but don't have the resources to manage childcare for their kids. Even if you'll be working remotely for the foreseeable future, it's a lot to manage both your schedule and your kid(s) school schedule. If you're lucky, you live in a town that's offering a hybrid option of in-school and remote, but many schools will have shorter hours and you still need to fill those at-home days. Even if you have a stay-at-home parent in the household, that parent needs a break too.

Giving Working Parents a New Solution

Like many other businesses, we needed to adapt to this changing landscape. When we first opened our doors, many asked if we offered a program for kids and at the time we didn't. Well, we're excited to announce that we are bringing Obstacle Fitness to your backyard! Introducing Backyard Basics, a 90-minute program that brings an obstacle course and games directly to your backyard. It's designed to get your kids outside and moving, and most importantly, give you a break.

More About Backyard Basics

Given current COVID-19 restrictions, this program is currently capped at six kids. Have you been limiting your interaction to a select group of other families? This program was created with that in mind as it's designed for two to three families to share. Priced at $175 for five kids (adding one more is only an additional $30), we think this is one of the best deals out there. Ready to sign up? Go ahead and book online!

We are really excited to share this new offering with you. Have questions? Check out our FAQ or reach out. We look forward to hearing from you!
